KK Connections FC suffered a 1–0 defeat against the emerging underdogs Invaders FC. This comes after Invaders’ midfielder Thabang ‘Dairy’ Msiza who nailed in the only important goal of the match in the first half.

“I feel great after having scored the most important goal of the match. I must say, credit must go to our opposition’s defence which turned me to being a hero of the day,” said the midfielder.

While the first half testified technical errors on KK connections’ side, the second half turned out to being a different story on its own. The losing side came into the second half determined to make up for the 1–0 lead, but it was not to be. Granted two chances for securing a comeback goal, KK Connections failed to capitalize on the given opportunities.

Aware of the potential threat, Invaders picked up momentum and sought to increase their lead but their efforts went off target. Adamant for a comeback Invaders controlled matters in the central midfield with the newly signed Bakari ‘Bhegi’ Ndlovu producing splendid passes in search for their key striker.

Forced to suffer from fatigue KK connection settled for the last option to slow down their opponents and considered several fouls in the days match. As the match progressed to its very end, KK connections tried to implement every trick in the book but it was not to be, as Invaders kept matters under control to the last minute.

Pleased with his newly signed midfielder Bakari ‘Bhegi’ Ndlovu from kgotlelelang Soccer Academy FC, Invaders’ head coach Sello Phetla believes that the young lad can improve even more. “I’m pleased with Bhegi’s performance–very committed player and growing by the minute. We just need to work on his fitness level to make him better more than he is,” he said.

And as for the day’s performance, Sello Phetla was pleased with his newly promoted side from Super to Castle league and made his intensions clear for this season. “I’m pleased with the day’s result and my focus this season is to finish in the top five. And as for the next season, I’m taking the league title,” he said.
